How Get Golfing are attracting the next generation of female golfers

Get Golfing are extremely proud of the work our dedicated community team have put in to ensure every female feels welcome, part of the club and has equal access to golfing opportunities. Our Mother and Daughter sessions have been a rip roaring success, with over 300 ladies and girls having relaxed, quality time together hitting balls and dropping putts.
What pleases us the most is that the sport of golf, like so many other games offers so much more to our communities. It has reached support workers who work with local families who struggle to access activities outside of term time and provided a safe space to encourage social development.
“I look after my Grandchildren during the school holidays and find it increasingly difficult to access suitable activities, especially on a tight budget. Get Golfing was a miracle find.”

We’re so pleased to say the Golf combined with the beauty of our sites has proved the perfect cocktail and we’ve had mothers/grandmothers leave children in our care to just go and enjoy coffee and reflection in our friendly and welcoming clubhouses.
The staff within Get Golfing and their peers have enjoyed trying a new game and all tend to warm to the challenge through the help of our experienced and good natured team.
“As a mother myself, it was wonderful to see just how engaged Jemma was with the challenge. We were suitably inspired and raised our level within the hour. As soon as we got back to the car Jemma was begging to get back out on the course. Thanks Get Golfing”
Emma Robinson - Communities and Apprenticeships Manager

Redlbbets Golf Club in Kent has proved a very popular venue for these sessions down to the support of the staff and the need for alternative and accessible activities in the holidays. We hope this initiative will grow from strength to strength. With the recent announcement of the takeover of Cobtree Manor Golf Club in Maidstone, previously run by the council we’re sure there will be lots of synergy between the two sites and hope to see families attending outreach programmes at both sites.

Thank you to all that attended over the October Half-Term and for all your feedback. Please be sure to sign up to our next FREE golf offering via the link below.

“The praise and encouragement from your staff really made the girls grow in confidence throughout the session. I saw her lose herself in the enjoyment & experience of the driving range. The achievement across the hour made her walk off that course taller..”

“My girls enjoyed using the driving range and, although nervous on arrival, the instruction and help was amazing and put us at ease.”
