The Junior Pathway programme provides young kids with the opportunity to play golf and encourages increased participation in the sport, which is a key focus for Get Golfing. This programme revolves around the concept of having FUN, enjoying delicious FOOD, and playing GOLF. Our aim is to guide these kids from their first time holding a club to a lifetime of engagement in the sport.
The Junior Pathway programme aims to seamlessly integrate children into our clubs’ free junior membership, which is available at all of our sites. Our objective is for them to attend sessions for six weeks, equipping them with the skills and confidence to participate in ongoing junior sessions. These sessions are specifically designed for children who have a barrier to participation, including Special Educational Needs and Disabilities or children who are in receipt of Free School Meals, providing a safe and inclusive environment where they can enjoy playing golf and learn proper etiquette. Ultimately, our goal is to empower them to navigate the golf course independently. Children hold the key to the future of the game and we are eagerly anticipating their enthusiastic involvement.
It serves as an extension of our Free School Meals programme, where children not only enjoy a delicious meal but also engage in a golf session. While some may not initially show a strong interest in golf, there will undoubtedly be a few who develop a passion for the sport and wish to continue playing. This is where the Junior Pathway programme comes in, providing them with the necessary experience and skills to eventually become members at one of our golf clubs. The idea is that it will bridge the gap between our free school meals programme and empowering children to fully embrace the world of golf at our clubs.
The sessions take place at Redlibbets, just like all of our other locations, providing a secure and welcoming environment for these sessions, where our main goal is to introduce children to the world of golf and help them become integrated in it.
Together, we have accomplished incredible milestones:
